My
daughter, Karen, was the chairperson
of the San Francisco Symphony Opening Gala Committee
2008 held on September 3rd. She previously co-chaired the San Francisco
Symphony's 95th opening gala and concert on September 6, 2006 and again for the
96th on September 19, 2007.
Karen is also on the Board of Trustees of the San Francisco Ballet.

Northeastern Kansas, Nemaha County, (about 100 miles
northwest of Kansas City). Here, I grew up and attended Maur Hill Prep
School and St. Benedict's College (Benedictine College) at Atchison, Kansas
between two years in the military overseas. My mother, a graduate of Mount
St. Scholastica Academy (Atchison) in 1922, raised the seven of us by
herself who were fourteen or less upon our father's death in 1944, on the
Baileyville, Kansas farm before there was Social Security coverage for
farms. She passed away November 12, 1999.
